Co-hosted by China Charity Fair and Shenzhen Project Care, the annual China International Philanthropic Movie Festival is the first national platform for original philanthropic movies. 10 sessions gathering 4902 pieces of artworks were held from 2013 to 2022.
At the 2022 session themed “unleash new philanthropy power”, 51 pieces of artworks stood out from among 429 to win an award. Chunhui Children’s micro-film Child in Plight---Yuanhui received “Outstanding Artworks” award.
The micro-film features the life of an elementary school boy Yuanhui. His mother died when he was very little and his father, a migrant worker, has been missing. He knows little parental love…
Growing up in a welfare institution, the aggressive trouble-making boy is thought to be a “bad” boy.
But with loving support from Chunhui mentors, he started to change. At the end of the film, he made the only wish that he could grow into an ordinary adult in 20 years.
The short film series Children in Plight document the tough life of three at-risk children from mountainous villages in Western China. They unravel what the children have been through and how Chunhui Village Program has brought wonderful changes to them. Looking forward, Chunhui Children will continue to share touching stories of more children. Let’s care about the children together. Your support means a lot to us.
Chunhui Village Program was officially launched for children who are confronted with high or intermediate level of risks due to poverty stalking their families. It recruits, trains and empowers local child workers. Equipped with child-centered inclusive development concepts, these child workers provide individualized emotional support for the children, build up their families’ capacity, and create a supportive social network to improve their resilience, increase their confidence and help them fit successfully into society.
